I have been an Oasis tutor at St Mark for over four years.  My youngest son went to St Mark; some of his former teachers and staff are there so I knew I would feel comfortable and be welcomed.  The teachers of the students that I tutor are very helpful with instructions and are open to my suggestions.  The students that I have been paired with were all pleasant and receptive.   Besides helping them with their studies, I converse with them (we laugh too) to get an idea of them as individuals.   In addition, the school population is diverse which is an advantage.  ~ Joan

  • Several years ago, we transferred from the Mehlville School District to St. Mark’s.  At Mehlville, our children were “different than” the other kids. This fall, St. Mark held it’s annual festival. One of our children recognized an alum, “I know her, she was in my prayer family!” This very nice 9th-grade girl, who was surrounded by several of her friends, spent time talking with my young son.  At St. Mark, my son is not “different,” he’s part of the family. That feeling has translated into improved grades and improved effort for one child and remarkably improved standardized test scores for another.

We wish everyone knew about St. Mark.

  • St. Mark isn’t just a school, it’s a community in Christ.  I see all of these people talking about their huge elementary and grade schools, and I look back at my smaller school and I’m thankful.  For the longest time, I wondered what it would have been like if I went to a different school, but the truth is that I couldn’t have asked for a better experience.  My class was like another family to me, my teachers were amazing, and I knew I could talk to them about anything. They helped me through some of my worst times, and I am thankful that God blessed me with the opportunity to attend St. Mark.  Although I am enjoying high school at Rosati Kain, I truly miss everything about St. Mark, especially the theater program. Our school plays were where I, and most kids, got to truly express themselves, and I enjoyed participating in three productions at St. Mark.  St. Mark helped me grow into my best self and I could not have asked for a better place to learn and grow with God. ~ Kenzie Lotspeich
